reading time: 2 minutes

Sertoma Chili Cook-Off is an annual fundraising event founded by the Springfield Area Sertoma Clubs. The event began in 1981, and has become one of the biggest parties of the year in Springfield. Chili Cook-Off features dozens of area businesses serving a wide variety of chili recipes that attendees are able to sample and enjoy, as well as voting for their favorite booth. A number of live bands and activities are hosted throughout the day alongside the delicious food and drinks. When people hear about Chili Cook-Off coming up— they know it’s the party to attend!

Saturday, Feb. 23rd
11am – 5pm

635 E Saint Louis St.

$20 General Admission at Door.

Why we should think you should go: Well for starters it supports a good cause with proceeds going to local children’s charities – so do it for the kids! Plus if you dig live music and steaming bowls of ground up meat and beans and stuff well that should pretty much sell ya. Not a fan of chili? To be honest, me neither! But if you just want to check out the scene, getting dragged along by your chili aficionado friend or significant other here are a few booths that you should still make you want to go:

-Picklemans Deli

-Krave Oyster Bar

-Iguana Roja

-Whiskey Tango
